Zecotek’s New CW Narrow-Band Ti: Sapphire Laser Selected by University of Waterloo
Vancouver, BC, November 15, 2007 - Zecotek Medical Systems, Inc. (TSX-V: ZMS; Frankfurt: W1I.F) today announced the selection of its CW Ti: Sapphire laser, model TIS-FD-08/A-scan-WV, by the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo, Canada. The laser is the latest ultra-wide tunable laser to be developed by Zecotek and will be used by the Institute in the field of nano-optics (the investigation of single semiconductor quantum dots) and quantum computing.
“We are very pleased that the University of Waterloo’s prestigious Institute for Quantum Computing has selected our latest CW Ti: Sapphire laser,” said Dr. A.F. Zerrouk, Chairman, President, and CEO of Zecotek. “Our new auto-scanned narrow band Ti: Sapphire laser is a valuable tool in this important area of research and is another example of Zecotek’s strength in the innovation and commercialization of leading edge photonic technologies.”
Zecotek’s CW narrow-band Ti: Sapphire laser, with computer control and integrated wave meter, represents the optimal cost-effective solution for a source of radiation tuneable within a wide range of wavelengths, important features for spectroscopy of semiconductor materials and other advanced material and scientific applications.
Zecotek’s Ti: Sapphire lasers are manufactured under contract by Tekhnoscan Lasers of Novosibirsk, for Zecotek Laser Systems Pte Ltd., the company’s wholly owned subsidiary.
