Notice of Allowance Issued for Rear-Projection 3D Display System

Zecotek Issued U.S. Notice of Allowance for Rear-Projection Auto-stereoscopic 3D Display System

Singapore, August 4, 2015 - Zecotek Photonics Inc. (TSX-V: ZMS; Frankfurt: W1I; OTCPK: ZMSPF), a developer of leading-edge photonics technologies for industrial, healthcare and scientific markets, is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent office has issued a Notice of Allowance related to the Company’s rear-projection 3D display. The U.S. patent number will be granted in the near future. This notice adds to the significant portfolio of patents, including U.S. patent numbers 7,944,465 and 9,055,288 covering Zecotek’s glasses-free 3D auto-stereoscopic display system.

“We are committed to maintaining Zecotek`s leading edge in 3D imaging technologies and strive to continually improve our 3D display platform,” said Dr. A.F. Zerrouk, Chairman, President, and CEO of Zecotek Photonics Inc. “This notice of allowance covers new advancements in our 3D display technologies aimed at scaling our 3D displays to very large sizes for commercial applications. This new advancement will be key to 3D technology used in digital signage and passive and active advertising systems used in walkways, shopping malls, immersive environments and simulations where there is substantial demand and representing ready opportunities.”

Zecotek has received patent allowances from the United States, Japan, Europe and Eurasia covering various components and processes of its 3D display system. This notice of allowance relates to 3D display technologies which allow for very large formats by miniaturizing the optical components for beam shifting and separating them from the actual 3D screen. While certain solutions made it possible to scale 3D to a large display size, they suffered from considerable cross-talk or required complicated mechanical designs of large-size scanning system. The new technology covered by this allowance eliminates deficiencies of previously known designs and will be advantageous in both large and medium sized 3D display systems.

About Zecotek’s 3D Display System
Zecotek’s 3D Display System is based on the auto-stereoscopic principle, but with substantial innovative and patented improvements and represents a new and unique generation of 3D displays. It has the capability of simultaneously presenting 3D and 2D images on the same screen, and for separate views at different viewing angles. Zecotek’s true, auto-stereoscopic 3D2D display system requires no eyewear and has an effective viewing angle of 40 degrees with 90 concurrent perspectives allowing for multiple views at the same time. Another unique feature of the Zecotek system is constant motion parallax within the viewing angle. Motion parallax eliminates the sense of imbalance and dizziness during normal observation which can occur with polarized and shutter glasses used with other commercial systems. Furthermore Zecotek’s 3D display features the preservation of the base resolution in every perspective view irrespective of the number of such views. This is not true for any other glasses-free displays where the base resolution is divided by the number of views. Zecotek`s white paper on 3D display technology is available on www.zecotek.com.
